Dr. Khang Tran has served as the full-time CMO at Medical City Plano since October 2014, after serving on a part-time basis since October 2012. Dr. Tran has held a variety of roles at Medical City Plano, including Chief of the Department of Internal Medicine, Chief of Staff, and Medical Director for Primary Care Services, all while practicing internal medicine with the Medical Center of North Texas (MCNT) where he also served on the Board of Directors.
Dr. Tran’s education, training, and practice of internal medicine have all been closely identified with North Texas. He graduated from Southern Methodist University and received his medical degree from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He completed his internal medicine residency at UT Southwestern and Parkland Memorial Hospital.
While at MCNT, he held many leadership positions including Chair of the Finance Committee. He was a part of the leadership structure that completed a merger with MCNT, Urology Associates of North Texas (UANT) and USMD, Inc, in 2012.
Dr. Tran is board-certified in internal medicine and is a member of the American College of Physicians, the Texas Medical Association, the Dallas County Medical Society, the American Medical Group Association, and the Plano Physicians Network.
