Chief Executive Officer, Medical City Plano
Charles E. Gressle joined Medical City Plano in 2013 with more than 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Achievements since assuming the executive lead include attaining status as the first designated Comprehensive Stroke Center in Collin, Dallas and Denton counties, outstanding achievements in quality, employee engagement, physician engagement and growth, the culmination of a $76 million expansion project, the opening of a Provider-Based Emergency Department, the opening of the region’s largest, dedicated Brain & Spine Hospital, the opening of the Burn & Reconstructive Center of Texas, as well as leading the journey to Level I Trauma Designation in 2017.
Gressle has a rich and diverse background in healthcare leadership which includes his prior position as Chief Operating Officer at Medical City & Medical City Children’s Hospital in Dallas. Other previous roles include serving as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for HCA’s Continental Division in Denver, Colorado, and as Chief Operating Officer at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas in Houston, Texas.
Early in his career, Gressle was Associate Vice President in HCA’s Strategic Resource Group where he demonstrated results across various service lines and markets, including the Western Group Cardiac Growth Initiative.
Gressle is proud and fortunate to have started his healthcare career as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Nationally Registered EMT-Paramedic. He received his undergraduate degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his MBA degree with Highest Honors from Wake Forest University. Gressle is married with four children and enjoys family activities, golf, exercising and volunteering in the community.
