The 4th Annual Plano Haunt Jaunt on October 17 will benefit one of Plano’s most innovative programs. The Plano Parks and Recreation Adapted Recreation programs offer recreational opportunities for people with special needs. Programs are offered year round and provide a variety of activities from fitness and fine arts to crafts and education. The idea is to meet the needs of children, teens and adults with disabilities.
Although these programs are recreational, there are many benefits that are inherent within each of the programs. They stress social interaction, self-direction, speech and language and community involvement. These programs provide a safe environment, respite for parents and caregivers and learning through a variety of classes. Staff and volunteers are there to assist each participant in getting the most out of each program they attend.
The Haunt Jaunt will be held at the Amphitheater at Oak Point Park at 2801 E. Spring Creek Parkway. Gates open at 5pm.
Medical City Plano is the presenting sponsor. Other sponsors include the City of Plano, In-N-Out Burger, Dark Hour Haunted House, Chuck E. Cheese, Plano Magazine, Pogue Construction, Kuru Footwear, Sports Authority and Three Wheel Power Sports.
