Mannequins wear red dresses in hospital lobby to increase awareness for women’s heart health
Medical City Plano kicks off National Heart Month by displaying mannequins, dressed in red in honor of Go Red for Women®, followed by three community heart events throughout the month.
Go Red for Women® falls on the first Friday in February and is dedicated to raising awareness of women’s heart health.
“According to the CDC, one in four women die from heart disease, making it the leading cause of death in women. Many of those deaths could be prevented with better awareness and understanding the risk factors for heart disease through education,” Medical City Plano CEO Charles Gressle said. “Medical City Plano is pleased to participate in National American Heart Month with this unexpected and strong visual impact that stresses the importance of keeping a healthy heart.”

- February 1 – 28, 2019 – Mannequins dressed in red, displayed in Medical City Plano’s main lobby, in partnership with Macy’s, a national sponsor of American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women® and The Shops at Willow Bend.
- February 9, 2019 - Second Cup of Coffee: Heart Healthy Living at 9:00 a.m. at The Shops at Willow Bend Ascension Court, 6121 W Park Blvd, Plano, TX 75093. Enjoy a great cup of coffee and discussion about heart healthy eating, as well as services available at Medical City Plano. - February 11, 2019 - Her Heart: The Importance of Heart Health in Women at 6:30 p.m. at Medical City Plano Professional Building 3, 4001 West 15th St, Suite 315, Plano, TX 75093. A Medical City Plano cardiologist will discuss heart disease in women including risks and symptoms, latest treatments and ways to reduce the risk.
