Medical City Plano March 06, 2014

The official ribbon-cutting for Medical City Plano’s new 24/7 Emergency Care was held Monday, March 3rd.   Located off-campus from the main hospital, the full-service emergency department opened in north Plano at 3670 Highway 121, east of Coit Road.  Present at the event were City of Plano officials along with representatives of the Plano Chamber of Commerce.

“We’re excited to open this new emergency department, which offers our community convenient, high quality care for any type of health care emergency. This facility was designed for comfort and expedient care in a family-friendly environment,” said Charles Gressle, chief executive officer of Medical City Plano.

24/7 Emergency Care provides comprehensive emergency care that is especially convenient for residents in north Plano, and parts of Frisco, Allen and McKinney. Staffed by board-certified emergency physicians and specially trained nurses, the ER delivers a level of care and technology equivalent to that provided in a traditional hospital-based emergency room. Included in the facility are an on-site laboratory, blood bank, and imaging services.

Patients of all ages can receive prompt and expert attention at 24/7 Emergency Care which has 12 private treatment rooms, including two pediatric themed exam rooms. “Parents can feel comfortable bringing their children for emergency care with our short wait times and nurses trained by child-life specialists,” said Melissa Alvarado, Director of 24/7 Emergency Care.  “It’s a great thing to have this emergency room available when children or adults need immediate care and time is precious.”
