Magnet Recognition, the most elite designation of excellence in nursing services
How We Earned It
We volunteered to undergo a rigorous assessment, in which we had to meet 96 different standards concerning our nursing staff, procedures and patient interactions. The program is based on the American Nurses Association's Scope and Standards for Nurse Administrators, and seeks to measure nursing indicators and patient outcomes, recognizing the best nursing services and quality patient care.
What It Means
Magnet designation is the highest healthcare quality recognition a hospital can receive. It proves that Medical City Plano's culture is centered on improving the patient's life, optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of a doctor's practice at the hospital, and providing for meaningful career enhancement and advancement for employees, especially registered nurses.
How It Sets Us Apart
Medical City Plano is the first hospital in Collin County to achieve this recognition. Of nearly 6,000 hospitals in the United States, we are the 234th in the nation and the 16th in the state to receive this honor. Less than 4 percent of hospitals have earned Magnet Recognition.
